The Art Azoï association is back in the heart of Paris with a monumental art installation, to be discovered at the Mairie du 10e from June 12 to August 31, 2024.
An Olympic summer means an exceptional project! Three years after "L'Essentiel", a magnificent project that saw more than 40 urban and contemporary artists take over the former postal sorting center on Square Alban Satragne, the Art Azoï association was invited to take over the 10th arrondissement town hall forthe summer.
Entrance hall, monumental staircase, windows and columns, corridors and floors: the entire Town Hall will be decked out in the colors of urban art. Carte blanche has been given to 5 talented artists, whose installations, created for the occasion, will respond to and resonate with the majesty of the place:
Passionate about writing and its history, Sifat revisits calligraphy, alphabets, motifs, signs and ideograms, appropriating their forms to create her own language. She makes surfaces her own, creating tangles of lines that oscillate between letters, symbols and graphic inspirations from elsewhere.
A graffiti artist fascinated by the history of writing, L'Atlas designs his own typography, combining calligraphy and optical art. His aim is to constantly renew his approach and expression of the letter and the line, of the codified rhythm of writing, leading his research towards abstraction.
Tinged with a strong musicality, Clément Laurentin's hybrid and cosmopolitan artistic expression takes shape between the head and the heart. Through his work, the artist composes rhythmic and melodic architectures that give free rein to sensitive, spontaneous writing.
Sébastien Preschoux strings threads together spaces and contexts with striking monumental works. Three-dimensional, his installations diffract light and offer a prodigious form of optical poetry in the setting in which they are constructed.
Jerk explores the artistic potential of recycling the cardboard boxes that invade our daily lives. His monumental installations unfold a vast artistic bric-a-brac, giving rise to a hybrid work of singular coherence.
Get ready for an extraordinary artistic experience and a feast for the eyes!
This free exhibition is open to the public from June 12 to August 31, 2024, during normal Town Hall opening hours.
