Marco da Silva Ferreira's "Fantasie Minor" on the Elisabeth Stadium stage

Produced in 2022 at the Centre chorégraphique national de Caen (Normandy), Fantasie Minor takes the Fantasy in F minor, Op. 103 by German composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828) as its starting point, experimenting with choreography that blends urban dances such as hip-hop and dancehall.

In composing this singular score, Portuguese-born choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira asked himself what might unite classical music and urban cultures. Performed by dancer Anka Postic and dancer Chloé Robidoux, Fantasie Minor answers this question by juxtaposing universes that are a priori very far apart, to reveal the best of both.
