As part of Paris Fête les Jeux (Paris celebrates the Games) program, "La Ville dansée" is hosting 10 choreographic creations in several emblematic Parisian venues on June 8th. From the Seine Saint-Denis to the Eiffel Tower, the city is handing its keys to the its dancers.
This spring, Paris is celebrating the Games with an abundant cultural program for everyone, which the City of Paris has entrusted to internationally renowned artists such as Mohammed El Khatib, Benjamin Millepied and Raymond Depardon. Artists are taking overthe Parisian public space during festivities and events. In addition to these unifying events, the City of Paris will be setting up festive sites in every arrondissement throughout the summer as part of the "Paris fête les Jeux" program. The aim is to let Parisians and visitors from all over the world experience the party-like atmosphere that is synonymous with the Games.
On June 8th, 2024, the Paris Dance Project, led by choreographer and dancing star Benjamin Millepied, will celebrate dancing in Paris and a number of other towns in the Île-de-France region. The event will combine choreographic creations in urban spaces, history, sociology and literature. Accessible to all, "La Ville dansée" is at a celebration of dancing featuring 10 creations by emerging and established choreographers and a unique opportunity to revisit the history of very different places through the eyes of essayists, writers and film-makers.
