Paris Games venues in depth

Two main sporting hubs around Paris for the Games

  • 95% of existing or temporary infrastructures
  • 30 disciplines within a 10 km radius of the Athletes' Village in Seine-Saint-Denis
  • 85% of athletes staying within 30 minutes of their competition venues.
The venues for the Olympic and Paralympic Games were officially validated by the Paris 2024 Board of Directors on December 17, 2020.
They are largely based on existing infrastructures:
  • Tennis, boxing, wheelchair tennis and seated volleyball at Roland-Garros
  • Basketball, gymnastics (artistic and trampoline) and wheelchair basketball at the AccorArena
  • Volleyball, table tennis, basketball, weightlifting, boccia and para-table tennis at Paris Expo
  • Soccer at the Parc des Princes
Paris is building an 8,000-seat arena in the heart of the Chapelle district for the Olympic badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events and the Paralympic para-badminton and para-weightlifting events, with the goal of leaving a positive legacy for local residents.

A spectacular concept with temporary sites in the heart of Paris

  • Fencing, taekwondo, wheelchair fencing and para-taekwondo at the Grand Palais
  • Judo, wrestling, para judo and wheelchair rugby at the ephemeral Grand Palais
  • Archery and para-archery on the Esplanade des Invalides
  • Beach volleyball and 5-a-side soccer at Champ-de-Mars
  • Triathlon, open-water swimming, athletics (marathon and walking), cycling and para-triathlon on the Pont d'Iéna.
  • Skateboarding, 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle and breaking at Concorde

In addition to Paris (Parc des Princes), Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Étienne will host the men's and women's Olympic soccer tournaments.

Road races

Marathon, road cycling, triathlon. Unlike the others, these three disciplines will compete in the streets of Paris, in a spectacular setting.

Celebration sites

The Games Celebration Sites (or "Live Sites") are the venues for events, celebrations and broadcasts for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. They will also be a key venue for the Cultural Olympiad Festival (June - September 2024). Their ambition: to make the event an integral part of the city and give residents the chance to experience the Games even without access to the competition venues.
