Several temporary competition venues will be set up in the heart of Paris for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Here's everything you need to know about security perimeters and venue construction before, during and after the Games.
Seven temporary sites will be set up in the heart of Paris for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and dismantled after the Games: at the Trocadéro, the Eiffel Tower, the Champ-de-Mars, the Invalides esplanade, the Alexandre-III bridge, the Place de la Concorde for the Olympic competitions and the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville for the festivities.
Five of them will also be used for the Paralympic Games: at the Eiffel Tower, Champ-de-Mars, Invalides esplanade, Alexandre-III bridge and Place de la Concorde.

What is the time-frame for setting up and dismantling venues?

From May 17th onward
To ensure security around site installations, police will set up filtering points during the day. These filtering points are located at the following intersections:
- Avenue des Champs Élysées on the corner nearest to the Champs Élysées roundabout (South-East side)
- Concorde Bridge on the Quai d’Orsay side
- Rue Royale on the corner of Place de la Madeleine
- Rue Royale on the corner of Rue Saint Honorée

Proof of authorization must be provided for motorized vehicles travelling beyond these points. Proof for pedestrians and bicycles is not required. Filtering points will lifted at the end of the day and on weekends.
