Cultural Olympiad

To coincide with the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Cultural Olympiad aims to bring together the worlds of sport and culture before, during and after the event.
In addition to a rich programme of events, two programmes offer visitors the chance to discover works of art in public spaces: "Ex-Aequo: l'héritage des jeux" (Equal Expectations: the Legacy of the Games), which invites visitors to discover some thirty works of art in the city's sports facilities, and "Instants des Jeux" (Instants of the Games), which displays eight iconic photos by Raymond Depardon and eight photos of young French athletes by his son Simon Depardon on the city's walls in sixteen exceptional locations.

The city of Paris owns 96 religious buildings. This heritage is part of Paris' identity. Restoring, maintaining and promoting these buildings, shaped over the centuries, and the major works they contain
Their movable heritage, estimated at almost 50,000 items, is regularly restored by specialists under the supervision of the City of Paris' Conservation des Oeuvres d'Art Religieuses et Civiles (COARC) and the Monuments Historiques.
