Did you know?
Break dancing developed in the United States in the 1970s. Born of the effervescence of neighborhood parties in the Bronx, New York, and stemming from hip hop culture, it stands out for its acrobatic dimension, its floor figures and the key role played by both the DJ and the MC (master of ceremonies) during the battles.
Break dance made its appearance on the program of the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games in 2018. In view of its success, it will enter the world of Olympism a little further at the Paris 2024 Games, where it will be included in the Olympic Games program as an additional sport (along with surfing, skateboarding and climbing).
