The "Paris Celebrates the Games" program features six storytellers who take a poetic look at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in and around the venues. Their creations will represent one of the lasting legacies of the event.
A myriad of distinctive creations, including videos, digital diaries, graffiti, and music compositions, were brought to life specifically for the Paris 2024 Games. Six diverse artists, each expressing their creativity in their unique way, can be discovered at the celebration sites across different arrondissements.
Grosso Modo strolls through the festivities
Paul Joubert, a true Parisian storyteller known as Grosso Modo on social networks, will be the main thread running through the event. His "strolls" will offer a unique and poetic perspective on the Parisian festivities.
Visual reflections on diversity and inclusion
Charlotte Abramow, photographer and director known for her collaborations with Angèle, will be taking pictures of passers-by during castings on August 7 at the Lutèce arenas (5th), August 26 at the Parc Monceau (8th) and August 29 along the Canal Saint-Martin. Her works are often imbued with social and poetic dimensions and will offer visual reflections on diversity and inclusion. The photographs will be exhibited on the gates of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre) after the Games.
Illustrations for diversity and social change
Aurélia Durand, an illustrator with a vibrant, colorful style and a commitment to diversity and social change, will be taking part on July 30 at the Cité Audacieuse (6th arrondissement), on August 8 and 21 at the Parc Sainte-Périne (16th arrondissement) and on August 30 at the Place Saint-Sulpice(6th arrondissement), as well as at the Élisabeth sports complex (14th arrondissement), in front of the town halls of the 9th and 15th arrondissements, on the Rives de Seine and at the Académie du Climat (Paris Centre) (dates to be determined). She will wander around these sites, creating drawings that will be compiled in a digital logbook.
"Incredible talent" choreographs dance the festivities
BBoy Junior (Junior Bosila Banya), a dancer and the champion of “La France a un incroyable talent” Season 2, is set to perform on July 29 and August 2 in the northeastern part of Paris. He plans to create a commemorative video capturing his distinctive dance moves on the sidewalks and footbridges of these traditionally working-class neighborhoods, known for their unique heritage. His dynamic energy and uplifting story of personal triumph will underscore the human aspect of the celebrations.
Urban art in the Parc de Choisy
Contemporary urban artist Jordane Saget, famous for his lines, will leave his mark on the green garden of the Parc de Choisy (13th arrondissement): the work he will create from July 22 to 24 will include the Olympic rings and the agitos.
An Olympic-sounding EP
Arthur Simonini, a multi-instrumentalist musician and film, television and theater composer, will create an EP from sounds captured during the Paris 2024 Games, before presenting it on stage on September 7 on the Terrasse des Jeux (Paris Centre).
