The right reflexes in hot weather
During hot spells, it's important to protect yourself and others. Here are a few tips to help you avoid dehydration and heatstroke:

Wet your body several times a day;

drink water regularly;

eat enough fruit and vegetables, if possible;

limit alcohol consumption;

avoid physical exertion and outings during the hottest hours of the day;

keep your home cool by closing the shutters during the day;

give and take news of your loved ones.
A reinforced cooling system
There are more than 1,400 cooling spots in Paris. These are known as "cooling islands". These establishments serve as havens of hospitality, offering respite and refreshment, open to all and recognized for providing relief during hot or sweltering conditions. They provide protection from the risks associated with extreme heat, and allow you to enjoy a bit of shade.

1,300 water points and fountains in town
Most of Paris' parks and gardens are equipped with drinking water fountains for refreshing and quenching your thirst.
In all, 1,300 distribution points in the capital offer water of excellent quality.
Shade in parks and gardens
There are almost 531 green spaces, parks, gardens, municipal squares and green promenades in the capital, and no fewer than 140 parks and gardens are open 24 hours a day! There's bound to be one open in the evening near you.
Take the plunge in one of Paris' 41 swimming pools
Paris' 41 public swimming pools welcome swimmers of all ages, from beginners to experts, alone or with the whole family, all year round.
Many Parisian swimming pools have sunroofs, outdoor pools and solariums: take your pick!
From July 6, six temporary bathing areas will be op en free of charge at various locations in the capital.
Shade canopies, an alternative to trees
As part of the Paris Frais program, innovative measures are being implemented, including the construction of shaded areas, using alternative solutions to tree planting where this is not possible.
These alternative solutions are called "ombrières" and provide shade for a given area, offering temporary shelter to pedestrians during heat waves.
