Ignited during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony by Teddy Riner and Marie-José Pérec, the Olympic cauldron is located in the Tuileries Gardens (Paris Centre). It will be visible until the end of the Paralympic Games, ascending up to 60 meters inot the air from sunset to 2 a.m. Below are five locations where you can view it at dusk.

Place du Carrousel and Carrousel Garden (Paris Centre)

Looking for a front-row seat to watch the Olympic balloon take flight? Visit the Tuileries Gardens in the center of Paris, which will be closed to the public during this time, and the Place du Carrousel, known for the iconic Louvre Pyramid. You will still be able to see it! Be warned though, it's going to be a busy one!

The quays between the Monnaie de Paris (6th) and the Assemblée nationale (7th)

On the other side of the Seine, where the Olympic opening ceremony took place, you can enjoy another spectacle: the balloon reaching for the stars! With its unobstructed view and picnic facilities, it's an ideal spot for a picnic!

Les Champs-Élysées (8^e)

On the most chic of Parisian avenues, we've got an idea for you: stand between the Arc de Triomphe and Franklin D. Roosevelt metro station to enjoy a beautiful perspective facing the Place de la Concorde Olympic site (8th) with the balloon rising above it. The perfect Instagram photo opportunity!

La rue de Rivoli (Paris Centre)

An alternative location is along rue de Rivoli, adjacent to the Parc des Tuileries in central Paris. The primary avenue, now limited to pedestrian traffic for security reasons, should afford you a view of this extraordinary event. Our favorite spot? Off the corner of rue d'Alger!

You can also enjoy the view from one of the capital's highest points! Admittedly, the balloon will be slightly smaller, but you'll be able to enjoy a magnificent panorama over Paris, with the added bonus of the Eiffel Tower (7th) sparkling at every hour!
