Sphère cinétique et sonore composée de 850 pièces métalliques, chacune suspendue à un fil, Bing Bang ressemble à un grand mobile. La sculpture se meut en une chorégraphie qui s’exprime par un phénomène de pulsations et de respirations. Les pièces se balancent, s’entrechoquent, se repoussent et s’attirent pour créer une mélodie vivante. Le carillon d’Étienne Krähenbühl propose un récit parallèle et poétique de notre monde en faisant écho au Big Bang, origine et premier fracas de l’univers. Reproduisant ce concentré de matière et d’énergie en devenir, la sphère est un atome comme elle est une planète, cristallisant ce moment où l’infiniment petit rencontre l’infiniment grand : Bing Bang traduit le souffle originel de la création.

A kinetic sound sphere composed of 850 metal parts, each suspended from a wire, Bing Bang resembles a giant mobile. The sculpture moves in a choreography of continuing pulsations and breaths. The parts sway back and forth, colliding, repelling and attracting each other to create a living melody. Étienne Krähenbühl’s wind chime tells a parallel poetic story of our world by echoing the Big Bang, the universe’s origin and first sound. Reproducing this concentrate of matter and energy in the making, the sphere is both atom and planet, crystallising that moment when the infinitely small meets the infinitely big: Bing Bang expresses the first breath of creation.
