Trois générations d'artistes contemporains d'origine martiniquaise issus de l'art, de la musique et de la danse (re-)donnent souffle au verbe anticolonial de Frantz Fanon dans le cadre d’une collaboration inédite où danse et tambour bèlè s'appellent et se répondent dans l’atrium du Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt.

En croisant les derniers mots d’Eric Garner avant sa mort (« I can’t breathe » ou « Je ne peux pas respirer ») avec l’analyse psychanalytique de Fanon sur les conséquences psychosomatiques des traumas coloniaux, Jean-François Boclé fait saillir les tensions musculaires du corps colonisé par sa dramaturgie, tandis que Julien Boclé chorégraphie le mouvement des muscles respiratoires et que Thierry Pécou en régule le rythme par la percussion.

Jean-François Boclé, né en 1971 en Martinique, développe une pratique pluridisciplinaire qui interroge la bipolarité du monde globalisé postcolonial, oscillant entre violence, toxicité, racialisation ou gentrification et la possibilité d’un Nous, celui entrevu sur le continent américain en dépit du premier pas d’un Cristóbal Colón.

Julien Boclé, est un artiste chorégraphe, danseur, comédien, et auteur français. Il a grandi en Bretagne, au contact de l’univers marin, empreint de sentiments d’immensité, de temps distendu, d’appel de l’infini. Le jeune chorégraphe déploie sur scène les vifs contrastes de sa danse juvénile et fougueuse, puisant avant tout dans le hip-hop.

Né en 1965 à Boulogne-Billancourt, Thierry Pécou a reçu de nombreux prix dont le Grand Prix Sacem de la musique symphonique. Ses compositions marquées par le dialogue avec les musiques traditionnelles du monde sont interprétées internationalement par de prestigieux interprètes. Également pianiste, il réunit fréquemment le geste de la composition et son incarnation sur la scène.

Three generations of contemporary artists of Martinican origin from art, music and dance (re-) breathe the anticolonial verb of Frantz Fanon as part of an unprecedented collaboration where dance and drum belè come together. call and answer each other in the atrium of the Theâtre de la Ville - Sarah Bernhardt.

By combining Eric Garner's last words before his death ("I can't breathe") with Fanon's psychoanalytic analysis of the psychosomatic consequences of colonial trauma, Jean-François Boclé highlights the muscular tensions of the body colonized by its dramaturgy, while Julien Boclé choreographs the movement of the respiratory muscles and Thierry Pécou regulates the rhythm through percussion.

Jean-François Boclé, born in 1971 in Martinique, develops a multidisciplinary practice which questions the bipolarity of the postcolonial globalized world, oscillating between violence, toxicity, racialization or gentrification and the possibility of a We, the one glimpsed on the American continent despite the first step of a Cristóbal Colón.

Julien Boclé, is a French choreographer, dancer, actor, and author. He grew up in Brittany, in contact with the marine universe, imbued with feelings of immensity, of stretched time, of the call of infinity. The young choreographer displays on stage the lively contrasts of his youthful and fiery dance, drawing above all from hip-hop.

Born in 1965 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Thierry Pécou has received numerous awards including the Sacem Grand Prix for symphonic music. His compositions marked by dialogue with traditional world music are interpreted internationally by prestigious performers. Also a pianist, he frequently brings together the gesture of composition and its incarnation on stage.
